G7 Finance Ministers to discuss Russian oil price cap on Friday

WASHINGTON, Aug 31 (PRIME) -- The Finance Ministers of the G7 states will discuss a price limit for Russian oil on Friday, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the U.S. National Security Council John Kirby said on Wednesday.

The official also said that the U.S. has taken decisive steps to forbid imports of Russian oil, and the U.S. allies plan to limit the imports. A price limit is seen as the most effective measure to hurt Russian President Vladimir Putin financially, Kirby said.
